Back in June 2010 the Boagworld podcast went into hibernation for the rest of the year to focus on alternatives to the audio podcast. The first up was a webinar by Paul Boag, Fight the System (You can still Download the video for just £9.25.)

Fight the system was aimed at people who work in web teams at large organisations who have to cope with the “politics of dealing with inter-departmental disputes and committee based bureaucracy”

In particular it focussed on how to:

  • Get signoff from stakeholders
  • Avoid scope creep and slippages
  • Overcome politics and problem people
  • Improve your internal reputation
  • Control your workload and priorities

I’ve always enjoyed listening to the podcast, but Fight the System was worth at least a year’s worth of episodes. As a member of a web team myself the webinar contained, without doubt, the most important lessons I have learnt this year.

It’s great news then, that Paul has now transformed the webinar into a two-part blog post on Smashing Magazine and I cannot stress enough how much I recommend you read it.
